Lesson 1 Introduction

Welcome to lesson 1 of the 'Apps for Good' course which will cover the rest of term3, 4, 5 and 6.  We will follow the development of a phone app from research through to development and pitching. You will  have plenty of opportunity to showcase your skills whether technical, business or artistic.  While you will all be assessed individually you will work in terms and if successful we might consider entering your ideas in a national competition.

 Learning Objectives

 Understand what the 'Apps for Good' course is about
Define what an A pp is.
 Understand what other students have achieved.

Lesson Tasks

 1.  We will not have a seating plan as we would like you to work in groups.  However, this is at the discretion of your teacher who may change things if you misbehave.

2.  Make sure that you write the blog address in your planner

3.  Open a Google doc called 'Apps for Good' and save it so that others can comment.  Now post the URL of this as a reply to this post.

4.  We will now look in detail at the 'Apps for Good ' course.

HOMEWORK

Think about your 3 favourite non gaming apps on either your phone or tablet.  In your 'Apps for Good' doc under the heading, 'Phone Apps' list the apps as follows:

    Snapchat - I like it because you can talk to your friends and send story's to everyone.

    YouTube - easy to use and funny youtubers you can also find movies and video clips.

    Instagram - You can post pictures and it's easy to use. Also another good way of taking to your friends.

    napchat-
    I use this app for talking to friends and sending pictures, i like it as i can talk to my friends and contact people

    Instagram-
    I like it because you can post cool pictures and see what celebs get up to, its an app which allows you to post pictures

    facebook- i like this as i can contact my friends from school and watch videos and see photos.

    The apps that I enjoy most are: Youtube, Spotify and Shazam. This is as youtube allows you view other videos and comment or interact with other people. I like Spotify as you can stream all the music you want and it also suggests music that you would enjoy. And I like Shazam as it reads the song you're listening to if you don't know the name.

    The apps that I use most are google for searching the web and accessing sites. Spotify for listening to music wherever i go for free, and youtube for entertainment purposes
